Botany on Baranof Island

This
is my school project, and I chose the study of plants.
I went
on trails in Sitka, and Goddard Hot Springs. Both are located on Baranof Island
in Southeast Alaska. I collected as many different species of plants that
I could find. Then I tried to identify them all, but some were a mystery,
so I went to an expert, Michael Shephard, a botanist at The United States
Forest Service. As soon as I identified all the plants I could, I wrote descriptions,
habitats, and edibility. Then I made a poster you can see at

you will be useful in helping you learn about some of Baranof's plants.
