Most camps are Monday - Thursday from 1 pm - 3:30 pm, unless noted. We are offering art camps, outdoor camps, fun & game camps, educational camps, plus many, many more. There are also many specialty camps offered. Click here to read descriptions of those.
Please study the camp descriptions and camp schedule and sign up your child for as many camps as you want. We think you will like this new concept for summer programs and that your child will have many exciting learning opportunities and activities this summer.
50% Scholarships are available but only apply to the registration fees, not any of the material fees, and will only apply to 3 camps per child. We are also offering family discounts of 10% off the registration fee for each additional child that you sign up.

Outdoor Survival Camp

Students will learn the foundations of survival: Seven Steps to Survival, safe travel in bear country, safe water preparation, edible plants, fire building, and basic first aid. On Thursday night we will build a survival shelter and camp under the stars. Students may choose to sleep in tents or in the survival shelter we have built. Outdoor gear may be provided, but students are highly encouraged to bring their own equipment. Becoming familiar with their own equipment will help make them safer when they go out with family, friends, and on their own. |
Lacrosse with Livvy

Candle Making

Students will learn to make and decorate different types of candles (sand, ice, molded, dipped). Students will take walks to gather and learn about local flowers. We will press the flowers and use them to decorate the candles. Each student is asked to bring one or more cardboard juice box container to use as a candle mold (the kind frozen juice comes in). |

"How to get ready for Kindergarten without even knowing it." This program is for children enter Kindergarten in the fall and is designed to promote and foster social and academic development with peers and an emphasis on developing literacy skills. Explore the low-tide beaches close to Sitka. This is a week with several minus tides. Students will explore the different tidal zones, do some simple experiments, learn about beach conservation, and have a lot of fun with tidal pools. Rubber boats and rain gear are recommended. You will get dirty, wet, and muddy, but will have a lot of fun. |

Sport Stacking (formerly known as cup stacking) is an individual and team activity played using plastic cups. It originated in the early 1980s at a Southern California boys and girls club and received national attention in 1990. Participants of sport stacking "up stack" and "down stack" cups in pre-determined sequences, competing against the clock or another player. Sequences are usually pyramids of 3, 6, or 10 cups. Proponents of the sport say participants learn teamwork, cooperation, ambidexterity and hand-eye coordination. |

Prerequisites: Some camping and hiking experience. Must be physically fit enough to kayak 12 miles and hike 8 miles in 4 days. Proper outdoor clothing is required and everyone must participate in a gear check and orientation on Friday July 25th.
Four days of hiking, camping, fishing, remoteness, wildlife, good food, and good people. This is a great trip for people who have enjoyed some of the other outdoor programs this summer.
Mon: Kayak 6 miles from Herring Cove to end of Silver Bay, Hike 2 miles to Salmon Lake Cabin
Tues: Day hike in the Salmon Lake area, on Lucky Chance Mountain
